What is the Digital SAT?
The Digital SAT (DSAT) is the computer-based version of the SAT exam, introduced by College Board in 2023 for international students and 2024 for US students. Unlike the old paper-based SAT, the Digital SAT is shorter, adaptive, and more focused — making preparation strategies very different.
Key Differences from the Old SAT
- Duration: 2 hours 14 minutes (down from 3 hours)
- Format: Two sections — Reading & Writing, then Math
- Adaptive: The second module difficulty adapts based on your first module performance
- Calculator: Allowed throughout the entire Math section (Desmos built-in)
- Score range: Still 400–1600
SAT Structure for 2025–2026
| Section | Modules | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading & Writing | 2 | 54 questions | 64 minutes |
| Math | 2 | 44 questions | 70 minutes |
How to Register in Bangladesh
Bangladeshi students can register on the College Board website at sat.collegeboard.org. You will need:
- A valid passport
- A College Board account
- Payment (approximately $103 for international students)
- Selection of a test center — Dhaka has multiple approved centers
Why Bangladeshi Students Should Take the SAT
A strong SAT score (1400+) is a powerful tool for Bangladeshi students aiming for:
- Full tuition scholarships at US universities
- Scholarships in South Korea (KAIST, POSTECH, SNU)
- Scholarships in Europe and Malaysia
- Recognition over lower secondary GPA in international applications
At DSAT School, we specialize in helping students from Bangladesh achieve 1400+ scores through AI-driven practice, 1-on-1 mentoring, and mock tests designed for the Digital SAT format.
